Bridging Continents: Flexible Details Supports Transformative River Development in the DRC
Team FlexD

At Flexible Details, our mission has always been to facilitate talent mobility and industrial excellence across borders. Today, we are proud to highlight our recent involvement in a landmark project that perfectly illustrates the intersection of maritime logistics, economic development, and international cooperation.

A Lifeline for the Inkisi River

We are pleased to share that Damen Trading has successfully facilitated the sale of two inland pusher tugs, the Animo and the Joset, to La Société d’Incubation d’Entreprise et Formations S.A.R.L in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

This acquisition is a cornerstone of the "PMEs Mutualisation Rivière" initiative, part of the World Bank-funded COPA/TRANSFORM project. The objective is as ambitious as it is vital: to revitalize river traffic on the Inkisi River in Kisantu. By unlocking this waterway, the project creates a strategic lifeline for the agricultural value chain throughout the Madimba territory in Kongo Central.

Our Role in the Consortium

The success of such a complex, cross-continental initiative requires meticulous planning and expert oversight. Flexible Details Lda, based in Portugal, is honored to serve as a key assistant to the consortium led by Deloitte, I&F Entrepreneuriat, and Kivu Entrepreneur.

Our team supports the implementation of the business plan competition for the Congolese government’s TRANSFORM project. This initiative is designed to harness the river as a strategic economic and social resource, empowering local SMEs and fostering long-term stability in the region.

Why This Matters

This project goes beyond simple logistics; it is about impact.

  • Economic Growth: Revitalizing river traffic allows local farmers to bring goods to market more efficiently.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Collaborating with world-class entities like the World Bank and Damen Trading showcases the strength of our global network.

  • Sustainable Development: Utilizing natural waterways is a cost-effective and environmentally conscious way to boost regional infrastructure.

At Flexible Details, we are inspired by the determination of the initiative leaders in the DRC. We are confident that this river development will be a resounding success, and we are proud to provide the specialized consulting and assistance necessary to move this vision forward.
